HDPE Crew Boat: Fast Personnel Transfer Vessels for Offshore Operations
Offshore oil platforms, wind farms, aquaculture installations, and marine construction sites all share a common daily requirement: the safe, efficient transfer of personnel between shore and offshore facilities. PlastBoat’s HDPE crew boat is engineered for exactly this mission — delivering crew quickly and safely in conditions that range from harbor calm to open sea swells, while minimizing the maintenance burden on operators who cannot afford vessel downtime in remote offshore locations.
As a dedicated crew boat manufacturer, PlastBoat builds vessels that serve the oil and gas industry in West Africa, the wind energy sector in Europe, and marine operations across the Middle East and Mediterranean. Our HDPE crew boats combine the speed required for efficient personnel transfer with the structural resilience and low maintenance of high-density polyethylene construction.
Why Choose PlastBoat's Crew Boat?
Speed
30+ knot capable crew boats reduce transit time to offshore platforms, maximizing productive work time and reducing crew fatigue.
Passenger comfort
Enclosed, air-conditioned cabins and high-performance hull forms reduce motion sickness and fatigue during offshore transfers.
HDPE durability
No corrosion, no painting, no anti-fouling. HDPE crew boats remain in service in tropical offshore environments with minimal maintenance.
Operational safety
Low-freeboard boarding systems, life-saving equipment, and navigation systems designed to IMCA offshore standards.
African offshore market
PlastBoat crew boats are particularly well-suited to Nigeria, Angola, and Egypt’s offshore oil and gas operations where tropical corrosion destroys metal hulls rapidly.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many passengers can your crew boats carry?
Our CB-61 carries 12 to 24 passengers plus crew. The CB-62 accommodates 30 to 50 passengers. Custom configurations with higher capacity are available.
Are your crew boats certified for offshore operations?
Yes. PlastBoat crew boats can be built to flag state, CE, and offshore industry standards including IMCA M140 guidelines. OVID inspection support is available on request.
Do you supply crew boats to West Africa?
Yes. Nigeria and Angola are among the most important markets for offshore crew transfer vessels. PlastBoat has supplied crew boats to operators in both countries, as well as Egypt and Libya.
Can the boats be fitted with a dynamic positioning system?
Yes. DP1 and DP2 dynamic positioning systems can be integrated into the CB-62 for operations at platforms requiring station-keeping during crew transfer.
